so i broke down and downloaded it.....

SO I have a few things I need to type:

1) I cannot sleep because I only have a chair to sleep in and my brother clacks his teeth together. SO of course, I am reading fanfic.

2) FANFICTION:

 I am not Anti-Slash. I'm not. If the characters are well written and the situation makes sense, then I am okay with Slash. what I am NOT okay with is when the fic practically reads very platonic gen and then suddenly the two guys are making out and have feelings/sex/more UST that had NOT EXISTED BEFORE!!! There is nothing wrong with gen fic, in some cases i prefer it. I think some authors go "HOW CAN I MAKE THIS MORE JOHN/RODNEY! I KNOW! SEX!" and then the story continues focusing more on the sex/ millitary regs then the story which was awesome up to that point. Then i quit reading and find another fic. I think the same thing happens in SPN, but don't even get me on the EUW (Excessive Use of Wincest).

I honestly don't see the John/Rodney. Maybe season one, but now I just see best friends. I don't really have a 'ship' on atlantis. I think that makes it better in some ways because Season 7-10 of SG1, I think I let myself focus on looking for Sam/Jack or Daniel/Vala moments. And then taking them out of context and getting excited over nothing (Excpet Unending and 200).

I can't bring myself to read fics where the violence is graphic. Maybe that makes me a wimp, but I don't want to read a story where Sam is raped and then all the guys are in the next room. That would never happen on the show, and I think I'm biased to think that fanfic should be an extension of the show. I try to stick to canon when writing, or as much as possible anyway. I also find it disturibing. Who wants to read about rape? John-wump is fine.

I LOVE the thought of John being a math professor. langford_u is amazing. But not a huge Schweir fan or whatever the nickname is. I totally would have taken math with Sheppard. But then that's AU and...yeah I think i just ranted about the awesomeness of canon. I think that's why I like John in fics better and Rodney better on the show. That and David Hewlett is amazing. And I love me some geeks so Shep with glasses AND his amazing hair is more than my poor little brain can comprehend.

3) COMIC CON

JUST POST THE DAMN SCHEDULE ALREADY! MALLOZZI IS DRIVING ME NUTS. lol. Hewlett's coming. then not metioned but then RDA might. GAH. I mean it's cool to have the producers there, but it's the actors that make all the fangirls go squee.

THAT MEANS I AM GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I practically wet myself just thinking about it.....getting there early and like sitting there until it starts. hopefully i don't need to pee. i'll restrict water intake that day.

Not much has been going on in Jenny-land. I got a new nickname at work, "Winer" (my last name is Wine) and they've given me some.. "responsibilities" or as I like to call them, "things managers don't want to do". They're not hard or anything. I think I'll start management training, I need more money. Badly. And McDonald's sucks, but hey. It's my job and I'm good at it.

I'm going to watch Atlantis now. Season one is lame, mainly because there is no Ronon, but hey. Ford's growing on me.
